Nagaland: Community involvement crucial in fight against drug abuse

Mokokchung, November 22 (MExN): Assam Rifles in collaboration with Kripa Foundation & Miss Nagaland 2022, Hikali Achumi organised an anti-drug campaign at town hall, Mokokchung on November 21.

PRO, HQ IGAR (North) in a press release stated that the special invitee for the occasion, Manoj Kumar, IPS, SP Mokokchung in his address emphasised the “crucial role of community involvement in the fight against drug abuse.” He stressed the need for collective action to create a drug-free environment. 

Guest speakers, Chumlamo Lotha, ADC Mokokchung, Arenla Longkhumer, President, WATSU and Miss Nagaland 2022, Hikali Achumi also shared insights on combating the menace of drug abuse, adding depth to the campaign.

Key highlights of the event included an address to the students by Dr Temsumenla SMO, Civil Hospital Mokokchung, Nagaland on the issue of drug abuse, its prevention, treatment & rehabilitation of drug addicts & screening of a short movie depicting Assam Rifles’ untiring efforts towards the society’s war on drug abuse and captivating performances by the students of Ungma SGHSS School and Front Fem Group. 

The Assam Rifles Jazz Band in collaboration with the local band presented musical performance.
