To be applicable for all Secondary, HSS level subjects
Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), on April 26, has announced revised question paper designs for all subjects for both secondary and higher secondary levels based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The steps to reform the examinations format was taken based on the NEP 2020 which lay special emphasis on transforming assessment for optimising learning and developing the competency of the learner, the Board said.
A DIPR report stated that the examinations will prioritise the basic learning outcomes and tests the core capacities/competencies, along with higher-order skills and application of knowledge in real-life situations.
In this connection, the NBSE has revised the question paper designs for all subjects for both secondary and higher secondary levels and sample question papers based on the new designs have been developed.
The revised format will be effective from Class IX Phase I & II Examinations 2023, while it will be applied in the HSLC and Class XI Promotion & HSSLC Examinations 2024 for all subjects, the NBSE stated.
Accordingly, it directed all registered schools under the Board to strictly follow the design and align the classroom teaching and assessments accordingly.
The new designs should be implemented from the mid-term examinations 2023, it added.
The NBSE also informed that the booklets based on the new format are made available on the NBSE portal www.nbsenl.edu.in
These include Question Paper Designs and Sample Question Papers for Secondary Level and Question Paper Designs and Sample Question Papers for Higher Secondary Level.
Hard copies of the booklets will be available in the Board’s office by the second week of May 2023, the Board informed, further directing all heads of institutions to take note of the changes and instruct their teachers and students to make use of the resources given.
