Nagaland: Agriculture department gets new directorate building

Nagaland Agriculture Advisor Mhathung Yanthan today inaugurated the new directorate building of the Agriculture Department below Phezoucha, New Secretariat Kohima.

Addressing the inaugural function, Yanthan congratulated the department for successful completion of the new office building. Yanthan also expressed hope that the new office would foster cohesive work culture among the officers and staff and usher in a new area of excellence.

He encouraged the department to take the ownership of the new office building and work towards upliftment of the department, adding that public office are for the welfare of the people, for which, it has to be accommodative and create a good image of the department.

Yanthan also apprised the officers and staffs to be committed and sincere in their work place to make a good footprint.

Agriculture Production Commissioner, R Binchilo Thong said that the new office building was a realization of a long cherished dream of the agriculture department. Thong said that though the completion of the building has taken a decade, however, having the directorate building in the capital complex area will go a long way in solving the problem of coordination between the directorate and the secretariat. Thong also said that with the starting of the new office building by next year, decision making will be expedited.

In this, he encouraged the staffs to create the most productive decision for the farmers and the state.

Agriculture Director M Ben Yanthan urged the staffs to work sincerely for the welfare of the department with the coming up of the new directorate office building.

Technical Report was shared by Er Achakbou Newmai, SE Agriculture. He informed that the Office building was constructed at the cost of Rs 15 crore with 60 rooms capacity and six story building with a total of 39,878sq.ft.

Earlier, dedicatory prayer was delivered by Keduoneituo Yhome, Pastor Phezoucha Baptist Church New Secretariat, Kohima. The programme was chaired by M Ben Yanthan while vote of thanks was proposed by Additional Director C Peter Yanthan.
