137 new patients recover from infection
DIMAPUR, MAY 25 (MExN): Nagaland today recorded 191 new cases of COVID-19 while 11 new deaths due to the virus were also reported. This was out of 1006 test results received on the day.
The new cases include 67 from Kohima, 53 from Dimapur, 28 from Tuensang, 25 from Mokokchung, 6 from Wokha, 4 each from Zunheboto and Mon, 2 from Peren, and 1 each from Kiphire and Phek. They comprise of 126 detected through self testing and random sampling, 51 traced contacts, 7 frontline workers, 4 from the armed forces and security forces, and 2 returnees and travelers.
Meanwhile 137 new patients have recovered from the infection. They include 53 from Dimapur, 38 from Kohima, 13 from Tuensang, 10 from Mon, 9 from Kiphire, 8 from Zunheboto, 4 from Mokokchung, and 2 from Peren.
The State now has a total caseload of 20,259. 14,637 patients have recovered and there are now 4,714 active cases in the State. With 11 new deaths, the total fatality count due to COVID-19 in Nagaland is now 285.
Of the 4,714 active cases in the State, the Health Department’s bulletin informed that 4,350 are asymptomatic, 179 have mild symptoms and 67 have moderate symptoms requiring oxygen. 84 patients have severe symptoms requiring oxygen. Meanwhile, 34 patients are in the ICU, of which 10 are on ventilators.
