Kohima, July 25 (MExN): Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Nagaland has launched digital payment services in all its Regional Transport and District Transport Offices across the State.
A delayed report received from the State DIPR informed that the services was launched pm on July 19 at Transport Commissionerate, Kohima as part of the MVD’s endeavour to improve services and efficiency in the State.
Commissioner & Secretary, Dr Zasekuolie Chusi on behalf of the Government, launched the service in the presence of Transport Commissioner Elias T Lotha, with officials from HDFC Bank headed by its Cluster Head, Lansingam Panmei, stated a DIPR report.
Speaking on the occasion, Chusi stated that the initiative another milestone in harnessing technology in the governance system and in the service of the citizens.
He also underscored the importance of meticulous approach in constant upgradation of working methods and systems to finally arrive at total digitization of transactions and services.
The digital payments services are being facilitated in collaboration with HDFC Bank.
“This initiative will enhance transparency, operational efficiency and speedy service process, speedy delivery and citizen convenience,” stated the DIPR report.
With the new service, citizens can now digitally transact taxes and fees relating to motor vehicles services with Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI QR Code along with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm.
