DIMAPUR, June 25 : Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) which met Thursday at District Planning Hall, Mokokchung under the chairmanship of minister, mechanical & housing, Tongpang Ozukum primarily deliberated on vital issues pertaining to development and health sectors.
According to DIPR report, the house discussed the land issue for upgradation of power house at Salangtem Ward and agreed to send a proposal to the department.
On dismantling the present Law College, Mokokchung building and shifting it to an alternative location, the house decided to complete the shifting at the earliest and complete the development of the new Deputy Commissioner office.
The house also deliberated on Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) dumping site and agreed to upgrade and develop the site.
Mokokchung DPDB chairman proposed construction of Mokokchung Town ring road to bypass the main town as development activities are growing overnight and as a result, traffic concession has become a major problem. The house also forwarded the Local Area Development Plan (LADP) proposal for 2021- 2022.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mokokchung, Dr. Chubala Aier updated the members on the status of COVID-19 in the district and requirement for Mokokchung district health facilities.
She highlighted the need to update the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the district starting from district COVID Hospital.
The house agreed to maintain two power generators in the hospital and to provide at least one oxymeters to every village.
The house also resolved to deduct 10% amount from LADP fund as per the directive of the government and hand over the amount to COVID District Task force (DTF) for COVID expenses in the district. On report of shortfall of drivers at DCs office, the house agreed to approach the appropriate authority.
