Missing juveniles found in Nagaon

Two juveniles from Kohima who had reportedly gone missing on October 3 evening were found in Nagaon district, Assam today after a person from Nagaland who was travelling to Guwahati had identified and brought the two boys to the nearest police unit in Borghat, Nagaon district.

The two boys, both aged 13, and residents of Forest Colony, Kohima had gone missing on October 3, at around 5:00 pm near Community Park, Forest Colony, Kohima, stated a missing report filed in South Police Station, Kohima and Childline, Kohima on October 4.

On receiving the news the Kohima Police and Childline Kohima and Dimapur confirmed to The Morung Express that the two juveniles found in Nagaon today are the same ones who were reported missing on October 3. 

After an FIR was lodged, Kohima Police along with family members initiated search operations in Kohima and Dimapur district, said Additional SP & PRO, Kohima Police, Vitoshe Sumi. 

After enquiry, the Police learnt that on October 4, the boys were seen in Bypass Jotsoma area where they had asked for lift. However, they were denied as the driver was heading in the opposite direction. They were reportedly seen near a highway hotel, Police said.

On receiving the information of the two juveniles, the PRO informed that the Kohima Police have also left for Borghat to bring back them back.

 The Childline Dimapur further informed this newspaper that the Childline Unit in Nagaon district and has been informed and arrangements will be made for the children to be kept in a Child Care Institute (CCI) since it is an inter-state issue.

They will be later produced to the concerned Child Welfare Committee as per procedures and after certain formalities, the children will be handed back to their parents, it also informed.
