Mega job fair for hospitality and cruise sector in Dimapur on Oct 28

In an attempt towards providing gainful employment opportunities to the unemployed youths of the State, Emporium Skill Training Institute, Nagaland in collaboration with the Dimapur District Skill Committee will be organising a mega job fair on October 28 at District Agri office, Dimapur. This was stated by the officials during a press conference at the Emporium Institute on October 22. 

Mhalo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur on behalf of the district administration noted that eight companies were expected to be a part of the event. These included renowned international firms such as Courtyard by Marriott, Deltin Group (Hotels and Casinos), ITC Hotels, Jio World Centre, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, St Regis, Mumbai, Taj Hotels and The Park Hotels. 

“Although it will be held in Dimapur, it will be meant for all youths of Nagaland,” she mentioned adding that the recruitment drive will be meant for those candidates who have completed matriculation and above.

Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager of Emporium Institute meanwhile explained that it will be an industry focused job fair. “We are focused on hospitality and cruise sector because these two sectors have been identified as a crucial sector for employing youths of the North-eastern region,” he said. As such, candidates from Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh were expected to be a part of the job fair. 

He noted for the selected candidates, offer letters will be provided on the same day of the job fair. Even for those who do not get selected, they will be provided with training by Emporium, Mukherjee revealed. As such, the only requirement for the candidates was to have the aspiration and zeal for working in such industries. 

He also underlined that interested candidates were required to bring their Aadhaar card/PAN card, educational qualification, passport size photos and their resume. 

Gideon Sumi, District Employment Officer on the other hand urged upon the youths to come out of their comfort zones and grab the opportunities being provided by the companies. 

Temjenkala Aier, CEO of Emporium Institute assured that job securities will be provided to the candidates once they are hired. “These companies have very strong labour laws along with having a zero tolerance policy against any form of harassment, racism or discrimination meted out to its employees.”
