Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): An inspection of the ongoing National Highway-2 on August 9 revealed ‘positive changes’ along the Unger to Tuli Tzürangra stretch, but concerns remain regarding the quality of workmanship, the Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) has stated.
The inspection was undertaken by the LKM, LKM Road Coordinator Committee (LKMRCC), PWD (NH) Department, the Authority Engineer, and KKB Rülho, the company engaged in the construction, as agreed during a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner on July 29.
In a press release received here, the LKM stated that during the inspection, its president, Imlinok, stressed the need for swift and proper completion of the work in a firm address to the company, the authority engineer, and the department representatives.
The LKM also stands prepared to enforce measures if the work does not meet expected standards in the future, it said.
It also issued a ‘stern warning’ against any disruptions by individuals or groups during the ongoing road construction, emphasising its readiness to take necessary action.
Underscoring the project’s critical importance, the Conference also stated that “any disruptions will trigger the LKM’s independent action.”
Meanwhile, the LKM stated that its letter submitted to the Deputy Commissioner on July 26, 2024, “retains its significance until the specified work is satisfactorily completed.”
