Little Flower’s Lokemi Achumi credits textbooks and discipline

For a bright and confident Lokemi Achumi who secured Top 2 in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations declared today, prioritizing the textbook remains the most important technique in preparation for exams. 

Expressing how she hadn’t expected to land in the position, she said competitions are very tough these days and although she had appeared well, “frankly speaking,” As Achumi puts was not 100% sure. 

What makes this young girl different is the fact that she hopes to serve the society by pursuing theology. 

When asked what subjects she interests her most to take up in her further course of academics, Achumi replies in a confident tone that it will in the arts streams and particularly social Sciences and English. 

While it is not the number of hours she studies that she recalls it more important, the ran 2 holder says she increased her preparation to 8-9 hours towards the time when exams were approaching and this started in January, this year. 

When it comes to her technique, Achumi is resolute about one thing where she substantiate by saying that one need to be disciplined and consistent. 

“Most important is to grasp our lessons and prioritizing the textbooks,” she says implying how understanding the topic is key to good preparation. 

She attributes her success to her school which in itself is holistic in its academic pursuit and also provides spiritual guidance for the students while the faculty play important role in the students lives. “The teachers are my inspiration,” Achumi says. 

Achumi scored a total of 588 marks with 98% which secured her the Top 2 in the HSLC exams.
