Kohima, Oct 1 (MExN): Kohima Excise department has made major seizure of banned drugs worth over 9 crore at Khuzama interstate check gate yesterday.
In a press release, Deputy Commisioner of Excise (Zonal), Kohima Venezolu Dawhou said that Kohima Excise team while manning khuzama inter-state check gate, on September 9 at around 8:30 am intercepted an Assam Registered Vehicle bearing registration No. AS-03-3808.
On thorough checking, Dawhou said 161 soap cases of Heroin weighing around 1.6 Kg (Approx) worth Rs 9.66 crore (street Value) was detected.
The items were enclosed in the secret chamber at the back rest of the said Vehicle.
It further said that the lone occupant of the vehicle KH Pavei from Senapati, PS Tadubi-Manipur was apprehended.
A case has been registered under relevant section of NDPS Act 1985. The duty party was led by Kezhasolie AIE, Khesangmew AIE, Khrovotso H/c, Nganwang E/c, Rokovikho E/c,Kevibuo E/c,Mhao LothaE/c,Nyimtsemo E/c,Rose L/c.
