Kohima, January 7 (MExN): The inauguration of Mitelephe Village Welcome Gate was held with Supongnukshi IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest & Project Director, Forest & Biodiversity Management in the Himalayas (FBMP) as the chief guest on January 6. Zachütuo Yietsu, Pastor BRC Mitelephe offered the prayers.
A press release received here mentioned that Mitelephe is a Batch-2 Village selected for implementation of Forest & Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya (Nagaland) Project (FBMP). The project is funded by KfW Development Bank.
In his inaugural speech, Supongnukshi IFS lauded the efforts of the Village Council, Community Conservation Area Committee (CCA-C) and the village community for “the success for erecting the village welcome gate which has been constructed 61 years since the village was established.”
Adding that future projects depend on the present works, he encouraged the villagers to take up projects in the future with honesty and diligence as this project is funded by the German Development Bank (KfW) assistance for which the works are monitored carefully by the agents of the German Government and that there are prospects for further funding.
Meanwhile, Pelevituo Tsochü , VDB Secretary & CCA-C Chairman, Mitelephe gave a brief report on the project implementation in the village while Banuo, Treasurer, CCA-C also gave a presentation.
In his welcome address, Kethowelie Khamo, VCC Mitelephe expressed gratitude to the Forest Department for assisting them in constructing the much needed asset, the village gate, which has been materialized through the project.
The inauguration programme was led by Medolezo Tepa, while Suohienuo Angela, Catechist, Catholic Church Mitelephe invoked God’s blessings for the programme. The village women group, Thenupfuko presented a special number, while Khasüdi Tepa, Head GB proposed the vote of thanks.
