DIMAPUR, JUL 31 (NPN) | Dimapur, Golaghat and Karbi Anglong district administrations have agreed to hold regular border coordination meetings among them. A border coordination meeting held among the civil and police administrations of the three districts at Bokajan on Friday also resolved that border issues would be settled through dialogues and keep all communication channels open.
Attended by Dimapur deputy commissioner (DC) and commissioner of police, Golaghat DC and superintendent of police, Karbi Anglong DC and SP, DIG (range), Assam and commandant of CRPF (neutral force), the House deliberated on the inter-State border situation and admitted that due to regular border co-ordination meetings among the officials of the districts concerned, no major border incident had taken place in the recent past.
The DCs and SPs of Karbi Anglong and Golaghat thanked Dimapur DC and commissioner of police, Dimapur for their support in conducting the recent Assam Assembly elections peacefully.
DIG (range), Assam told the meeting that due to regular border coordination meetings among the district officials, the overall situation on the border was normal and no major incident had taken place so far. This was stated in a report submitted to the Commissioner Nagaland by deputy commissioner Dimapur, R. Soundararajan.
