DIMAPUR, NOV 23 (NPN) : GPRN/NSCN celebrated the “14th Naga Unification Day” on Monday at Council Headquarters (CHQ), Naga Unification Camp, Khehoyi.
GPRN/NSCN special envoy to collective leadership Alezo Venuh, who was the chief guest, read out the presidential message (full text on p-6), and exhorted the gathering about the prevailing Naga political scenario. He reminded the gathering how the arduous aspirational task of uniting various Naga political groups and building cohesive relationship among the Nagas for early resolution of the Indo-Naga political negotiation was made possible under the collective leadership of and president ‘gen.’ (Retd.) M.B Neokpao Konyak and ato kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi.
He also spoke on the contemporary reality, to be into account while resolving the Naga issue. Venuh further encouraged the gathering to stand with truth and practicality in realisation of the aspirations of the Nagas.
Earlier, the programme commenced with the invocation by pastor CHQ Vikato Aye, followed by hoisting of the Naga national flag by the chief guest and drill display by Naga Army, GHQ.
MIP said that an obituary moment in honour of the martyrs and heroes who fought and sacrificed for the Naga nationhood was also observe. A special number was presented by ‘pt.’ Themsi Kuki of the Naga Army, GHQ.
The day programme concluded with a thanksgiving benediction by ‘lieut.’ Hukavi Assumi, chaplain of the Naga Army, GHQ.
