Govt issues Unlock 6 guidelines

DIMAPUR, SEP 16 (NPN): State High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19, which held a review meeting under the chairmanship of chief minister on September 13, decided to extend the existing lockdown measures and guidelines starting September 17-30, 2021 (Unlock-6) with further additional relaxations.

According to the state home department, HPC has allowed conduct of regular classes in all schools in the rural areas for students of Class V-X with 50% attendance in adherence to all the provisions of the SOP to be issued by home department. However, in urban areas classes (V-X) will be allowed to reopen from October 1.

Offline classes for the polytechnics for the session July-December 2021 would be allowed to open subject to compliance of SOP issued for re-opening of colleges and technical institutions for conduct of regular classes for students as applicable.

Further, 100% attendance has been permitted in all the government offices subject to adherence to Covid-19 appropriate behaviour, and fulfilment of the existing requirements for vaccination or testing for attendance in office

HPC has also decided to relaxed night curfew by one hour and would be in force from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Respective DTFs will decide on the timings for opening of shops and other business establishments within their respective jurisdictions outside the night curfew timings.

Also, swimming pools and cinemas have been allowed to open with 50% capacity subject to adherence to SOP to be issued by the home department.

Meanwhile, HPC, which also discussed about the annual Hornbill Festival, mentioned that the state government intends to celebrate/organise the Hornbill Festival if the Covid-19 situation continued to remain under control with positivity rate below 5%.

The activities would be undertaken with full adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

Since travel to Nagaland for tourism was already allowed for those who have been fully vaccinated, HPC stated that pre-bookings in hotels and other facilities may be done by intending tourists.

In order to kick start the preparatory activities, an inter-departmental meeting would be held with the department of tourism and the department of art & culture on September 23.
