Nagaland School Education & SCERT Advisor Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome today informed that the government is in the process of recruiting 138 Mathematics and Science teachers in the state.

He said this during the inauguration of Higher Secondary Block Building for Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School Kohima on July 18.

Referring to the recent upgradation of GHS to HSS in Mon Town ‘C’ in Mon district, Dr Yhome said the Konyak Students’ Union has came forward and advertising the recruitment of post graduate teachers. “We are collaborating with each other,” he said.

Maintaining that higher secondary schools are now becoming “very popular” in the state, he said “We hope to open more higher secondary schools aggressively in the future.”

The reason for requirement of more higher secondary schools is that Government of India has disallowed the colleges to take class 11 & 12, he said. Last year, 15 colleges in Nagaland became the last to take up class 11 &12 students.
