Gov visits Peren, conducts meeting with CSOs & Heads of Offices

PEREN, JULY 22 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan visited Peren and conducted a meeting with the Heads of Government Offices and Civil Society Organizations of Peren District at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren Hq on July 21.

During his address, the Governor emphasized the importance of providing good basic infrastructure in the district, including education, healthcare, proper roads, and adequate banking facilities.

He urged all schools and colleges in the state to adopt the New Education Policy, which aims to elevate the standard of education in India to a global level.

The Governor highlighted the various government health-related schemes in operation, such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and the state’s own CM Health Insurance Scheme. He called upon the concerned departments to ensure that these schemes reach the citizens effectively for their benefit.

Regarding healthcare, he emphasized the need to enhance awareness about tuberculosis and its treatment under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The Governor also stressed the importance of providing clean drinking water to every home through the JalJeevan Mission (JJM), urging the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to ensure that the scheme reaches all citizens.

Banking was another essential service he highlighted, advocating for every eligible citizen, especially women, to have a Jan-Dhan account. He requested the District Lead Bank Authority to conduct financial literacy camps in villages to raise awareness about banking and financial facilities.

Expressing concern over drug addiction, the Governor urged civil societies and law enforcement agencies to take strong measures against drug abuse. He concluded by urging everyone to be good and law-abiding citizens, cooperating with the government at both the center and state levels.

During the meeting, EE PWD (R&B), Dr Khuito Murumi, presented an overview of road projects in the district, and DIO Peren, Dr Kiholi, highlighted the TB Elimination Programme. The meeting was followed by a security coordination session.
