Gov calls for commitment towards a vibrant, inclusive & developed India

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan today graced the State Level Yuva Utsav Nagaland at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima. This event was held under the aegis of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganesan said “This year, our Utsav celebrates the ‘Panch Pran’-the five vows which serve as the driving force for our country’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by the year 2047.”

Firstly, he said, “we vow to achieve the goal of a developed India. Secondly, we pledge to eliminate every remnant of the colonial mindset that has long shackled our thoughts and actions. The third vow is to take pride in our rich heritage and legacy.” “Our fourth resolve is to foster unity and solidarity-a testament to the diversity of our customs and traditions, yet united in our aspirations,” he added. Lastly, he said, “we commit to a renewed sense of duty among citizens, with each of us leading by example in our communities and beyond.”

He said that India is a nation of young citizens and old history, adding that the long history, diverse cultures, rich heritage and strong traditions form the cultural wealth upon which young citizen will actualize the vision of India@2047–that is Viksit Bharat or a developed India, during the centennial celebration of India’s Independence in 2047.

‘Acknowledges crucial role of youth’
“It is important to realize and acknowledge the crucial role of the youth,” Ganesan said.

Stating that with a population of 144 crore, India is one of the youngest nations with a median age of 29 years, Ganesan said “This is an enormous opportunity.” He said that Yuva Utsav 2023 and the Viksit Bharat@2047:Voice of Youth programmes have been conceptualized to utilize this dividend.

Yuva Utsav was marked by a young artist and writers talent hunt on photography, declamation contest, and the cultural festival. “Today, we embrace the ‘Panch Pran’, not just as a theme, but as a clarion call for transformative action towards envisioning India as a fully developed country by the year 2047,” he said. “May your energies contribute to our aspiration of creating a vibrant, inclusive, and a developed India,” Ganesan stated.

Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports Advisor S Keoshu Yimkhiung was the guest of honour at the programme. The programme was chaired by Anthony Ngullie, Secretary, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland. Introduction to Yuva Utsav was delivered by Ruokuovikho Chale, Acct & Programme Asst. NYKS. Vote of thanks was proposed by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.
