FM Sitharaman to attend Nagaland CSR & Investment Conclave

Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman will grace the Nagaland CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) & Investment Conclave in Kohima on July 4 and 5 under the theme, ‘Partnerships for strengthening sustainable development.’
The two-day conclave will see the presence of many corporate houses, investors and bankers from across the country.
It will be held under the aegis of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
Informing this during a press conference here today, IDAN Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alemtemshi Jamir said that while CSR is an enactment of the Central government directing all companies with net worth of Rs 500 crore and more and turnover of Rs 1000 crore and more should keep two percent of their profit for CSR activities.
He said that Nagaland has not been getting its due share as, “we are getting only .006 percent.”
The conclave is basically to showcase CSR investments in Nagaland, and also for NGOs and grassroots entrepreneurs from the state to interact with the investors. Around 20 NGOs from the state having CSR registration and also fulfilling the CSR investment criteria would be participating in the conclave, he informed.
Approximately 50-60 CEOs representing major corporations across the country would also be joining the conclave, he said.
The Conclave will talk on opportunities for business and social investments, the business, economic and social environment, experience of doing CSR in Nagaland, industry perspective.
It will also witness the launch and announcement of Single Window System, policy brief on women entrepreneurship, launch of initiatives under the Externally Aided programme- Nagaland Health programme and NECTAR, declaration of CRS commitment, interaction with CSR implementing agencies, roadmap for development of industries in Nagaland, small scale industry in Nagaland etc., and release of Nagaland Opportunities Abound.
The inaugural session on July 4 has been fixed at 4:00 pm at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima.
Credit Outreach Programme and launch of new scheme and programmes will take place on July 5 at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima at 10:30 am.
