Zunheboto, October 12 (MExN): The Red Ribbon Club of Zunheboto Government College conducted a series of flashmobs at the Centenary Gate junction and on the college campus on October 11. Organized under the guidance of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, the event aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote testing, and advocate for a drug-free lifestyle.
Clad in red ribbons as a symbol of their commitment, participants performed choreographed routines that captivated local residents and highlighted the importance of addressing HIV/AIDS. The flashmobs included informative announcements about the significance of regular testing and the need for community support for individuals living with the virus.
“We want to break the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and encourage people to get tested and support one another,” said Miss Jenny Kent, Assistant Professor and Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officer at Zunheboto Government College. “This event is not just about dancing; it’s about raising awareness and promoting a healthier, drug-free lifestyle.”
The flashmob performances drew a large crowd, sparking conversations about HIV prevention and health advocacy within the community.
