First in Nagaland: Centre for Innovative Learning through VR in Mon inaugurated

Mon, July 20 (MExN): A Experiential Learning Centre for Innovative Learning through Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Animation, Visual Effect and Modern Gaming was inaugurated by Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak at GHSS Mon on July 19.

Advisor Wangpang Konyak in his speech appreciated all the people who were involved in this project and bringing it to reality, stated a DIPR report. “It is a great opportunity for the people of Mon to have such kind of learning facility, as it is the first time in Nagaland,” he stated. The Advisor encouraged the students to take advantage of such modern technology.

“The education system in Nagaland has improved a lot, how you study is more important than where you study,” he said. Konyak also assured that he will take up the problems faced by the teachers and students to higher authority.

Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, in his speech stated that it is the first of its kind in Nagaland. He thanked the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India for choosing Mon District for this project and funding it. 

The education programme has been designed in such a way the students can learn through Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Animation, Visual Effect and Modern Gaming in the education section. He said the idea is to penetrate, which are modern, upgraded. 

He encouraged the students to make use of this instrument as an instrumental in the learning process, to gain knowledge which is not easily available in traditional platforms. He also added that this can be popularised only if the students are interested and make use of it. The DC Mon said that the team will be set up to manage this instrument.

EAC HQ, Tshelhiu chaired the programme while the students of GHSS Mon presented a special number. Vote of thanks was delivered by EAC HQ, T Imlongchaba Chang.
