Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) Nagaland on Friday informed of two separate jungle fire incidents in Kiphire and Dimapur on March 2 and 4 respectively.
On receiving a fire call at 5:07 pm on March 2 at Loyola Campus (Catholic Cemetery), Kiphire, the F&ES team led by Duty Commander ASI Tejongol Sophie from Fire Station Kiphire proceeded to control the fire, the department informed in a press release on Friday.
Due to timely information and response, fire was controlled and prevented from burning the farm and rest house, it said.
There was no casualty in the incident, however, the cause of fire could not be ascertained, it added.
Meanwhile, in Dimapur, a fire incident was reported on March 4 at 2:13 pm at 6th Mile, Sovima, Pesuozhü Ward. The F&ES team led by Duty Commander ASI Thangpong Khiamniungan from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire.
The cause of fire was due to clearing of garden, the department informed. Due to timely information and response, the fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading further, it added.
