Kohima, May 8 (MExN): Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr Sukhato A Sema, made an appeal on Sunday to the concerned authorities not to leave behind a single Nagaland citizen in violence-hit Manipur, even as he expressed appreciation for the first evacuation on May 7 arranged by the Nagaland Government.
The evacuation process should not be limited to Imphal alone, but also be carried out in other parts of the state as people from Nagaland have a history of doing business and other activities even in the remotest and farthest parts of Manipur, like Moreh on the Myanmar border, he urged in a statement.
Dr Sukhato further appealed to all parties to maintain maximum restraint as “there is no way to peace, but peace is the way”.
Meanwhile, the MLA representing the 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency also informed any person from the constituency stranded in Manipur and in need of assistance to contact Ngukato K Tsuipu – 7005444691, Kuhoji Kiba – 9436005254, and Hotoka Swu – 9598806240.
He also extended his gratitude to the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM & Minister Home, Y Patton for arranging transportation and security cover for the Nagaland students stranded in Manipur.
