ENLU delegation calls on union ministers in Delhi

DIMAPUR , August 26: Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) delegation and Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) official called on union minister for DoNER, culture & tourism, G. Kishan Reddy, in New Delhi on August 25.

In a press release, PRO Nagaland House, New Delhi, Kuolie Mere informed that during the meeting, state health minister Pangnyu Phom on behalf of the Eastern Nagaland delegation apprised the union minister on the special economic package announced by prime minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Eastern Nagaland in the year 2018.

Various proposal of the Eastern Nagaland development project was submitted in DoNER ministry for early sanction. The delegation also highlighted the meeting between NITI Aayog CEO and official on August 24.

They informed the union minister that the project proposal was approved by multidisciplinary committee headed by ministry of home affairs.

In this regard, they appealed to the union minister to personally intervene and take up the matter for the interest of Eastern Nagaland and its development.

The union minister assured the delegation that he would take up the matter at the earliest in a phase manner and asked them to mention the top priority list for first phase of the project proposal from submitted list.

The union minister also informed that he would discuss with the prime minister and other line ministry for early sanction.

Officials present at the meeting included joint secretary, deputy secretary DoNER, ministry & DRC Nagaland House, New Delhi.

Later, the Eastern Nagaland delegation also called on the union minister for law & justice Kiren Rijiju at his official resident, New Delhi and briefed him about the prime minister special package for Eastern Nagaland.

They requested him for intervention and support. The union minister said that he would meet DoNER minister and other colleagues to support the project submitted in the ministry of DoNER.
