Clark Theological College (CTC), Mokokchung celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1972-2022) under the theme, ‘empowering to transform’ with Prof Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) as the speaker at the CTC Multi Court on November 10.
In his address, Dr Mar expressed immense joy and appreciation towards the Clark Theological College celebrating 50 years of its existence.
Speaking on the theme ‘Empowering to transform,’ the ABAM Secretary said that there is an authoritative which commands an inspiring connection of each and every Christian individual to bring transformation in churches, society and in the lives of each individual. He said, “One need to transform oneself in the word of God before one proclaims the message to others.”
Dr Mar said one needs to be humble and empowered with God to be able to preach the gospel and added, “We need to be bold in preaching the word of God.”
He recollected that the college started with nine students in 1972 and offered only Diploma courses, however, today it has upgraded to a full-fledged college offering Doctorate and other such programmes. Citing the example from Matthews 118:23, he said CTC’s success today was because of the Lord’s blessing and added ‘the college’s outreach has now immense strength.’
Further, he said that CTC is a theological institute with 80 percent of its works concentrated in academics and ‘educators play an important role in teaching and moulding the students with the aim for the students to spread the authentic teaching of the Lord to the world.’
Prof Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir, Principal, CTC during his welcome address stated that it was an historic milestone for the college in celebrating 50 years of its existence and went on to express appreciation towards ABAM, parent body of the college for their continued support towards the college.
Earlier, Rev Dr James Taneti, Union Presbyterian Seminary USA; Rev I Wati Jamir, Senior Pastor Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo; Rev Dr Noklen Longkumer, Pastor Ungma Baptist Church and Rango Herie, President CTC Alumni Association delivered greetings.
Prof Rev Dr Mar Pongener also unveiled the Jubilee Monument at the college campus while the release of the Jubilee Souvenir book was officiated by Dr Sunep Imchen, Chairman, Board of Governors CTC and a book titled “Sümedem- Journal of Communication and Cultural Studies” authored by Prof L Imsutoshi Jamir was released by Prof Shimreingam Shimray, Principal, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat. CTC Students Union and CTC Choir also presented songs at the jubilee programme.
