Kohima, August 21 (MExN): An emergency meeting of the Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on August 20 concerning the Dzüdza landslide resolved to prioritise traffic, particularly for trucks carrying essential commodities, fuel, and medicines.
Teams were also proposed to visit stranded trucks on National Highway-29 and provide basic assistance to truckers in need.
The meeting at DPDB Hall Kohima noted that the landslide had impacted traffic and the supply of essential commodities.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Kohima Kumar Ramnikant informed that the SDO Civil Sechü-Zubza, along with village authorities and contractor personnel, had inspected the upper reaches of the landslide area and submitted a report.
Further, a committee, with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and CEO DDMA Kohima Rhosietho Nguori as its Chairman, had been formed to visit and monitor the affected area, the DC said.
Following the assessment, the committee would draft a plan to mitigate the occurrence of continuous landslides and submit a report for further action by higher authorities, he added.
As per the State DIPR, the meeting also directed concerned agencies to maintain other used roads properly for commuters.
