Drawing competition on ‘clean and safe environment for children’ held

Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): A drawing competition under the theme, ‘clean and safe environment for children’ was organised by Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA as part of Children Campaign 2023 activities at Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Dimapur on July 10 last. 

Altogether 53 children from different localities and Institutions from Dimapur and Chümoukedima participated in the event. 

The main objective of the competition was to create awareness on the Right of the Children with special emphasis on Article 24 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as to foster creativity and artistic talents in young people to freely express their ideas and perspectives on how they envision a clean and safe environment. The competition was segregate into two different categories i.e. 12–14 years and 15-18 years of age, a press release stated here. 

The programme began with briefing on the concept of the Children’s Campaign 2023 by Sr Jisha, Children Mobilization Officer, Child Friendly Dimapur, while Gaisanglung, Civil Society Mobilization Officer, Child Friendly Dimapur, highlighted on the guideline for the competition.

While addressing the children, Mankup, Graphic Designer, an experienced artist, Judge for the event said that the emotions and feeling of a person is expressed well in the art. 

Prizes for the top three winners in each category will be awarded on September 16 during the art exhibition cum sales day at ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) – Don Bosco, Dimapur.
