DRAN’indefinite dharna’ from today

Dismayed with the lackadaisical attitude of the concern authority, COVID-19 pandemic appointed nurses who are currently protesting for service regularisation has decided to shift their mode of protest in the form of an indefinite dharna from November 17.

Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses’ (DRAN) 2021 members informed that the decision to go forward with its third phase of agitation was taken in a meeting held at the Secretariat junction by all the members.

Despite holding five rounds of meeting with concerned officials, it all ended inconclusive with the same proposal for the nurses to sit for the NPSC exam, said a member. “We are very disheartened as our pleas have fallen into deaf ears,” he added.

Getting ready for the dharna, he maintained, “We will not leave the site of the protest until our demand is fulfilled.”

Meanwhile, it was informed that DRAN had a cordial meeting with the Trained Nurses Association of India, Nagaland (TNAI) who extended their support and understood the ongoing protest called by the COVID-19 recruited nurses comprising of 125 members.

On Wednesday, three students union also visited DRAN extending their solidarity and support. The nurses have appreciated the gesture of various students unions and organisations.
