Dimapur: New traffic trial run on April 14 and 15

DIMAPUR, APRIL 13 (MExN): The Dimapur Police has informed that on April 14 and 15, there will be a 2 day trial run of the Dimapur-Chümoukedima-Niuland traffic flow along proposed diverted routes in view of diversion plans when rehabilitation works are conducted on the Road Over Bridge (ROB) near Hotel Tragopan on NH-29.

On these two days, the ROB will be completely cut off from both sides for any and all vehicular movement.

Entry and exit of heavy/transport vehicles will be restricted from 4:00 am till 10:00 pm, effective from the morning of April 14. Such vehicles shall only be allowed to ply between 10:00 pm and 4:00 am.

Heavy/transport vehicles coming into Dimapur from Newfield check gate and heading toward Kohima side will ply along Khermahal-City Tower-Dhobinalla-Signal Angami-Thahekhu-Thilixu -Toulazouma-Lungwiram junction-3rd Mile junction-NH-29.

Heavy/transport vehicles coming into Dimapur from Dillai check gate heading toward Kohima side will cross DC Court junction towards PWD-Midland-Dhobinalla-Signal Angami-Thahekhu-Thilixu- Toulazouma – Lungwiram junction-3rd Mile junction-NH-29.

Heavy/transport vehicles coming into Dimapur from Kohima side will be diverted from Green Park junction (5th Mile) towards Sovima-Selhouphe junction-Nagaland Zoological park-Thahekhu-Signal Angami-Dhobinalla-City Tower/Midland-Tragopan/DC Court junction-Newfield check gate/Dillai check gate.

Another diversion for heavy/transport vehicles coming from Kohima side towards Assam may be routed to Khatkati check gate via 5th Mile in- Purana Bazaar-Veterinary Police point.

For other categories of vehicles (other than heavy/transport vehicles), all routes (except the ROB) shall remain open at all times, with several restrictions.

The routes along GS Road and Marwaripatti are declared as a One- Sided Parking Zone. The convergent point of Khermahal Road, Eros Lane and Deluxe Point is declared as a No-Parking Zone. No vehicles will be allowed to enter Eros Lane from Deluxe Point side. No vehicles will be allowed to proceed to Deluxe Point from Khermahal Point. All vehicles approaching Deluxe Point from Eros Lane will only be allowed entry toward the Railway flyover.

The route from DNSU office/fire station point towards Police Colony – Hotel Jal Mahal junction is declared one way while two way traffic will be allowed between Railway Station road junction towards Durga-Mandir-GS Road-Army Supply junction.
