Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The Dimapur District Welfare Society (District Administration) which is a registered society under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur in collaboration with National Highway Infrastructure Development Limited (NHIDCL) distributed aids under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal IAS speaking on the occasion expressed gratitude to NHIDCL for the gesture show towards the District and highlighted that the Dimapur District Welfare Society (DDWS) was formed with an aim to take up charitable initiative especially for the upliftment of underprivileged students, government school, orphanages and empowerment of women.
The DC Dimapur highlighted that altogether 10 institutions were selected for the project namely GMS (Lotha) Duncan, GPS Senjum, GPS Lengrijan, GHS Burma Camp, GMS Ragailong, Public College of Commerce Dimapur, Jan Jati Vikas Samiti Dimapur, Wondang Ki (orphanage), Eliezer Home (orphanage) and Prodigal Home Dimapur.
The beneficiaries received sewing machines, cutting and tailoring materials, computer sets, RO water filters, library materials like tables, chairs, racks, books etc.
Earlier, the DDWS in collaboration with NHIDCL distributed sewing machines, embroidery machines, clothing materials and cash incentive to the Prodigal Home.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC Dimapur lamented that many underprivileged women in the district even after acquiring vocation skills faces financial constraints to purchase the basic tools to start up their businesses and ‘this project aims to help the women by providing them the basic tools, machine and monetary assistance to enable to start their business.’
The DC Dimapur also visited two orphanages Wondang Ki and Eliexer Home and distributed computer sets, RO water filter, library materials etc.
He encouraged the students to diligently work hard and remain focus on the various fields they are pursuing and also to make the best use of the materials provided to them.
