The Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) has undertaken a demolition drive to clear roadside obstacles in Zunheboto Town on March 15.

Speaking to the media, ZTC Councillor Kakishe Zhimo stated that the primary objective of demolishing boundary walls, fencing, and electric/telecom poles was to widen pathways and facilitate smoother traffic flow.

“Narrow roads cause traffic congestion and delays, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through,” he explained.

“Multiple circulars and notifications were issued to the concerned individuals, but as there was no response, we were left with no option but to proceed with the demolition,” he added.

He further stated that the demolition drive would be carried out across the town.

The process, initiated under the leadership of ZTC Chairperson Herato T. Sukhalu and Deputy Chairperson Vihoto Zhimo, along with ZTC councillors, was conducted in the presence of police personnel, colony GBs, and concerned individuals.
