DC allows Jan 10 ‘March against AFSPA’ with rider

DIMAPUR, JAN 10 (NPN): Dimapur deputy commissioner (DC) Rajesh Soundararajan has granted permission to Global Naga Forum (GNF) to hold walkathon scheduled on January 10 and 11 from Super Market here to Piphema, on condition that all COVID-19 SOPs and protocols would be adhered to.

The permit has been granted on the conditions that a) all participants should be asymptomatic and fully vaccinated (taken both doses) against Covid-19; b) security to hold the walkathon would be sought from Dimapur commissioner of police; c) all visitors observe Covid-19 appropriate behaviours, including compulsory use of face mask, hand sanitiser and maintain social distancing; d) organisers would responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the terms and conditions.

The DC warned that any person/group of persons acting in violation of the conditions, including other existing orders/SOPs/guidelines for preventing spread of Covid-19, would be liable to be prosecuted under relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under section 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions.

Meanwhile, ahead of the event, the organizers also issued specific guidelines for all participants to follow.
