The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) today resolved to fully endorse the Department of School Education in its effort to check proxy teachers.
Resolving this during its 42nd general session in Chizami under Phek district, the CPO stated, “With an unwavering commitment to education, the CPO resolved to fully endorse the Department of School Education in its effort to check proxy teachers.”
It further resolved to conduct skill development programmes, vocational training, and career counselling initiatives with Chakhesang Scholars Forum (CSF) and Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU as the nodal agent with special emphasis on elementary and higher education.
The CPO shall advocate for the preservation and promotion of our own mother tongue, informed CPO resolution committee convenor Mikha Kenye.
Ecological balance
Recognising the urgency of environmental preservation, the CPO commits to promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining ecological balance within our region, the resolution stated.
Understanding the pivotal role of trees in maintaining environmental balance, the CPO urged every member to actively participate in tree plantation drives, fostering a green and sustainable community.
“Henceforth, Trees/Fruit Trees plantation drive will be organised every year on June 5 coinciding with the World Environment Day, involving the entire community,” the resolution stated.
Entrepreneurs for local economic growth
In a bid to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, the CPO pledged to encourage and support local businesses, advancing economic growth within its community and facilitating sustainable development.
Appreciation/recognition certificate will be awarded to the most deserving individuals/society/village, the resolution stated.
It also resolved to constitute a Committee on Vision 2050 for Sustainable Development in Agri and Allied sectors comprising of experts in the concerned field.
Encourages nomination system
The CPO advocates for a nomination system instead of election for all CPO frontal body office bearers in order to check malpractices, avoid corruption and to promote just leadership embodying the honest principle of the forefathers, the resolution stated.
The CPO resolved to reaffirm the resolutions adopted during the 38th CPO General Session on January 10, 2020 in Phek town and CPO’s Resolution on Chakhesang Tribe 75th Anniversary Celebration on January 10, 2021 in Phek Town.
