DIMAPUR, JAN 7 (NPN) : After maintaining a low daily case count for several months, Nagaland on Thursday witnessed a surge in Covid-19 infections with 31 fresh cases being reported while one more patient succumbed to the infection during the day.
Of the fresh cases, 30 were from Dimapur and one in Kohima, taking the state’s total caseload to 32247.
Further, one more patient succumbed to the infection in Dimapur, pushing the Covid death toll to 687 (including 16 non-Covid deaths but with positivity).
Vaccination status
Meanwhile, altogether 1143 beneficiaries in the 15-18 age group were inoculated against Covid-19 as on January 6.
According to Health & Family Welfare department, 977 were administered the first dose of Covaxin in Dimapur district, while 166 received their first dose in Kohima.
Further, a total of 13,40,872 doses of both Covidshield and Sputnik V vaccines have been administered in the state.
While 7,57,734 first dose and 5,76,761 second dose of Covidshield were administered; 3,476 individuals received their first dose and 2,901 their second dose of Sputnik V across the State.
Healthcare workers- 16,005 first dose and 13,543 second dose; frontline workers– 60,985 first dose and 48,627 second dose; 18-44 years– 4,69,912 first dose and 3,37,951 second dose and in 45 years and above category– 2,14,308 first dose and 1,79,541 second dose.
