Covid-19 vaccination for children launched in Wokha

DIMAPUR, Jan 12: Wokha District Task Force (DTF) for Covid -19 Tuesday launched the Covid -19 vaccination for 15-18 years.

According to DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha and chairman Wokha DTF, Orenthung Lotha, while launching the vaccination, termed the day as a “historic day” for the district.

He thanked the government of India for providing the vaccine promptly for the wellbeing of citizens and urged all the stakeholders of the district to give their best efforts.

Stating that the world was entering in to the third year of pandemic, Lotha expressed concerns that many students have been affected, adding that it was a collective responsibility to end the pandemic by adhering to Covid appropriate behavior.

The DC also appealed to all the parents, headmasters and principals of schools and colleges to inform all the eligible beneficiaries to take the vaccine at the earliest. He said vaccination would be available on Monday and Tuesday.

At the programme, Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTC) Pastor Rev. Abemo Jungio said a prayer and deputy chief medical officer/DPO/VIP/RCH said the vote of thanks.
