CMO ACKNOWLEDGES ROLE PLAYED BY CHURCH, CSOS
Along with the rest of the country, Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office Dimapur organised a celebration programme of 100 crore Covid vaccination milestone of India, here at CVC, SD Jain charitable centre on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, CMO Dimapur, Dr. Moatemjen said that many countries was not been able to achieve what India had achieved in terms of Covid vaccination.
He stated that although India was behind other countries in many fields, India had achieved a great milestone with the completion of 100 crore covid vaccination.
With regard to state’s data on covid vaccination, he informed that a total of 11,69,659 doses were completed, inclusive of first and second doses, with Dimapur accumulating a total of 4,23,551.
He also informed that 99.3% of health care workers and 99.4% frontline workers were vaccinated.
In this, he acknowledged the role played by Church, adding that the Church had done tremendous job by creating awareness in regards to Covid vaccination.
He also acknowledged civil society organisations for coming forward to assist medical team in Covid vaccination drive and awareness programme.
CMO, however said that though the achievement was a huge accomplishment for India, he encouraged all to continue creating awareness on Covid vaccination whereever and whenever possible.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by district immunization officer (DIO), Dr. Rebecca Y Sema while a short speech was delivered by SD Jain secretary, Narendra Jain.
