The Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) today organised a solidarity prayer programme for Manipur state and appealed the Government of Manipur and Centre to bring normalcy to Manipur.
Held at old SBI junction, Pfutsero in Phek district, hundreds of women took part in the programme where they condemned the two tribal women parade naked and groped by a mob in Manipur and said that it needs the highest condemnation from all section of people.
Among the many placards displayed at the programme reads; “Spread love not violence,” “We want peace in Manipur,” “Stop killing, Say no to war,” “Stand for peace and humanity,” “Say no to violence against women,” etc etc.
All the five area units, two Town units, chairperson and women VDB secretary of all village units under CMA attended the program. CMA President, Zhonelu Tunyi and Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) Women Secretary, Neingupeu K. Rhakho delivered solidarity speech. Solidarity slogans were led CMA Vice President, Neichülou Tsuzuh. An offering was also made during the programme to help the suffering brothers and sisters in Manipur conflict.
Earlier, the programme was led by CMA General Secretary, Kezevinuo Krome. Rev Dr Kuzhopoyo Tunyi, Pastor, CMCC Pfutsero invoked God’s blessings. Wekhrou Thele made a special presentation. Mass spoken prayer was led by Dr Vekutulu Veyie, Vice Principal, Baptist Theological College. Pfutsero.
