Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): The Community Health Center (CHC) Dhansiripar, led Dr Weri Mero, Dental Surgeon, CHC Dhansiripar observed World Oral Health Month in March 2025 under the theme ‘A happy mouth is a happy mind.’

During the month long observation, Dr Weri Mero and his team organised oral health care awareness camps and visited schools under Dhansiripar Blocks. During such awareness camps, addition to dental examination, flouride treatment to prevent cavities, tooth extraction, and temporary fillings were also performed.
Dr Mero emphasised on dental hygiene during the camp, importance of dental hygiene in maintaining overall health. He also highlighted the negative impacts of tobacco products particularly in relation to smoking and chewing gutkha. During the camp, proper teeth brushing technique was demonstrated.

The Oral Health Camps were organised with an aim to inform the public and schools about the value of maintaining good dental hygiene and oral health, with the understanding that gum disease in particular can raise the risk of major health issues. Painting and slogan writing competitions were also held for the students.
The team visited three schools, and organised awareness camps for ASHAs, Community Health Officers, and the communities under Dhansiripar Block.
