DIMAPUR , October 22: Chief electoral officer (CEO) Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar Friday asked all district election officers (DEOs) to complete assigned works within prescribed timeline.
A press release from the CEO office informed that a video conference with all DEOs was convened by the CEO to discuss issues and review the progress of pre-revision activities in connection with Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t January 1, 2022 as the qualifying date.
At the meeting the CEO appreciated the efforts of the DEOs while discharging their official duties. He reminded the officials that the election commission was monitoring the progress of various pre-revision and revision activities and exhorted all to complete assigned works within prescribed timeline.
The status of various pre-revision activities such as the status of Garuda App, forms for new voter registration, correction, deletion and transposition, demographically similar entries (DSEs) and logical errors were reviewed and taken up with each district. The district officials have also shared issues pertaining to their district. Issues relating to having an accurate electoral roll and systematic voters education and electoral participation (SVEEP) were also deliberated. The meeting was attended by the CEO, officers from CEO’s office and the DEOs in the districts. The deputy commissioners (DCs) are the designated DEOs.
