Catholic Association of Nagaland to hold convention from today

The 39th years convention of Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) will take place from January 13 to 16 under the theme “Credible Witness of Christ” at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama in Kohima district.

It will be hosted by Southern Angami Catholic Union (SACU).

Addressing a press conference today, CAN President, Johnny Ruangmei said that Catholics from across the state would gather for the triennial convention which also coincides with 39 years existence of CAN.

Over 3000 delegates from all districts are expected to be part of the convention.

Bishop of Kohima, Most Reverend Dr. James Thoppil will grace the event as the chief patron, K D Vizo, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Nagaland as the chief guest and Elias Vas, President, All India Catholic Union (AICU) as the guest of honour.

Ruangmei hoped that the convention would allow believers to enjoy, learn and grow together.
