Azo, Phangnon and Wangpang laud Paralympics bronze medalist Hokato

MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and leader NPF Legislature Party congratulated Hokato Hotozhe Sema for winning bronze medal for India in Men’s Shot Put F57 Class held in Paris 2024 Paralympics.

“Your stellar performance in securing the Paralympic medal with a personal best of 14.65m is indeed, a testament of your hard work and dedication which will inspire our youngsters and generations to come,” Azo stated.

Stating that Hokato has created history as the first Paralympic athlete and medallist from Nagaland, Azo stated “Your display of  courage and sporting excellence  on the global stage truly exhibits  the spirit of human resilience and perseverance and we are very proud of you.”

May you excel higher and continue to break barriers for all of us, Azo added.

Meanwhile, Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP S. Phangnon Konyak also congratulated Hokato and stated “Nagas will remember this feat for a lifetime.”

Wangpang Konyak, Advisor, Department of Social Welfare said that Hokato’s journey to the Paralympics podium is a testament to his indomitable spirit, resilience, and dedication. “Overcoming challenges that would daunt many, he has shown the world what determination looks like. His success story resonates deeply with our core Naga values – perseverance, courage, and the pursuit of excellence against all odds.”

“This achievement marks a historic moment for Nagaland, making Hokato the first from our state to win a medal for India at the Paralympics. His victory not only brings pride to his family and community but also serves as an inspiration for countless others, especially for persons with disabilities (PwDs), proving that with grit and support, any barrier can be overcome,” he added.
