Awareness programme on nutrition, hygiene practices

DIMAPUR, August 9 : An awareness programme on nutrition, hygiene practices and mental well-being was held on August 7 at Aoyimkum Panchayat Hall, Dimapur.

The programme was organised by Dimapur district administration and District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra (DLCW-MSK), Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao(BBBP) Dimapur in collaboration with Community Health Initiative (CHI) and Prodigals’ Home, Dimapur.

According to a DIPR report, special guest of the programme, EAC Dimapur, Nukshimatong highlighted the importance of nutrition, hygiene and mental wellness. Stressing on the importance of healthy eating habits and physical exercise, EAC encouraged the gathering to consume locally produced organic fruits and vegetables which can also be easily achieved by maintaining kitchen garden.

Stating that good deeds brought peace of mind, Nukshimatong said that being kind to someone, uplifting each other and helping someone in need was also a great way to achieve peace of mind.

Women welfare officer, DLCW-MSK, Lanusangla Jamir spoke on nutrition, director CHI spoke on menstruation hygiene practices while Sungkum Aier from Prodigals’ Home spoke on awareness on mental health community mental health programme.

The programme was chaired by Tiajungla while welcome address and vote of thanks was delivered by district coordinator DLCW-MSK, Dhonthaidi Langthasa and Ajungla respectively.
