Apex Diagnostic Clinic and Research Center, Naharbari, has installed a CT Scan machine into its portfolio of diagnostic equipments. With the installation, it became only the second diagnostic centre, outside of hospitals, in Dimapur, with a 32 slice CT Scan machine.
The centre, run jointly by husband and wife duo— radiologist Dr Worshim Khamrang and microbiologist Dr Lumbeni Kithan, was opened in April 2022. Dr Kithan, MD Microbiology (Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore), handles Culture and Sensitivity tests, while Dr Khamrang, Senior Radiologist (DMRD, Madras Medical College, Chennai), is responsible for Ultrasound, X-ray, CT Scan, and guided procedures. In addition, it conducts blood tests, routine checkups and OPD consultations.
According to Dr Khamrang, the newly installed CT Scan machine— a GE Revolution ACTS 32 slice, would be among the best in Dimapur. Most other CT Scan machines available in Dimapur are 16 slice.
“With this, I believe we will be giving great service to the people of Dimapur and Nagaland,” he said, while wishing that the public would take advantage of the available facilities. As a radiologist, working outside a hospital setting, he said that he desires to bridge a perceived communication gap between the referring clinicians and radiologists.
Generally, CT Scan reports are returned only the following day. However, Dr Khamrang said that he has made it a professional commitment to deliver the scan reports as soon as possible, sometimes the same day itself and even within hours subject to the demands of the medical case.
Former MLA, Wochumo Kithan, who is the father of Dr Lumbeni Kithan, inaugurated the new installation.
