Correspondent Mokokchung, Nov 8 (NPN) : All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) on Sunday inspected the ongoing works on NH-02 in Mokokchung town.
AWUMT team led by president, Limanungsang met the executive engineer of National Highways, Mokokchung division and contractors, Trident Enterprises, and expressed their views and concerns.
Limanungsang said that the contractors have given their assurance that the ongoing works would be completed before Christmas, if they do not face mechanical problems.
It was also informed that the contractors have agreed to broaden the carpeted area of the road surface as well as build proper drainage, including cross drainage.
AWUMT president also said that the contractors have agreed to build footpaths for pedestrians along the highway where it will be possible.
Meanwhile, AWUMT has informed the public to cooperate with the workers for timely completion of the ongoing works. It also informed all concerned to obey the Deputy Commissioner’s order to remove building materials, off road vehicles and other moveable properties kept along NH-02 stretching from Km 117 (Sewak Gate) to Km 156 (DEF) Mokokchung immediately.
