GPRN/NSCN celebrates 15th Naga Unification Anniversary

Dimapur, November 23 (MExN): Member, Advisor to Collective Leadership (ACL) of the GPRN/NSCN Azheto Chophy today stated that “the basic aim of unification was meant for Naga political solution and nothing else.”

He said this during the 15th Naga Unification Anniversary celebration at Council Headquarters (CHQ), Naga Unification Camp, Khehoyi on November 22, according to a press release from the GPRN/NSCN Ministry of Information and Publicity.

Chophy, who was the chief guest of the occasion, reminisced about the genuine journey undertaken by GPRN to bring together the divided Naga national groups. While admiring the relentless patriotism of the Naga people, he spoke of the regretful exhibition and division of the Naga people into different groups and parties, although with a same goal.

He opined that the desire and goal of the Naga people cannot be achieved and materialised as long as the Naga people, especially the national workers, dwell on division. “Solution to the Naga political issue would not arrive even if next Naga generation continues to carry on the Naga movement, until Naga people unite with one voice and stand,” he said.

Summarising his speech on the need for unity and building cohesive relationships among the Naga people, he extended greetings and urged the gathering to support the collective leadership of Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak, President and N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN with renewed spirit and aspire for a better future for the Naga people, the MIP release stated.

Earlier, the an invocation prayer was pronounced by Dr Akito, Pastor, CHQ Church and the programme commenced with unfurling of the Naga National flag by the chief guest.
