A substance abuse awareness initiative, by the AIDA-Child Friendly Dimapur, targetting children came to a close after an almost 4-months long campaign. The campaign launched under the slogan— Break Free, Choose Health, Not Harm, ran from May 10 to August 30.
The campaign closure programme was organised at the AIDA Training Hall located in the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School premises, Dimapur, where the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Tinojongshi Chang, was invited as a guest. Chang also released a survey report— Child Led Survey 2023.
According to Chang, campaigns of this kind will affect positive change in the society. Terming India as a country where the dreams and rights of children are protected, he said, “Unless we involve them, guide them, nurture them today, their dreams and aspirations will not be achieved.” And, he added that it was heartening to see educated youngsters taking the initiative for the future of children.
While asserting that education and health go hand in hand, he said that the aspiration should be for creating an atmosphere where every child is nurtured holistically.
Garrol Lotha, Project Coordinator of CFD informed that the campaign reached out to around 1200 individuals, mostly students and people from various strata of the society.
