9 police personnel get out-of-turn promotion

DIMAPUR, JAN 22 (NPN) : Nine Nagaland Police personnel were given an out-of-turn promotion and 14 personnel given the ‘DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc’ on Friday.

The award was given away by DGP Nagaland, T John Longkumer at a function held at the State Police Headquarters.

The following officer and personnel of Narcotic Police Station under IGP (CID) were awarded the ‘out-of-turn promotion’ to the next higher rank they include– ASI Zasili, Hav Abemo, Hav Y. Wilson, Naik Zhovio, UBC Limayanger, UBC Ralanbemo, UBC Vilavotuo, ABC Chinyom and ABC Tayongmeren.

Further following officers and personnel were awarded the ‘DGP Nagaland Commendation Disc’– IGP (IR Bn) Sonia Singh (IPS), SP Noklak Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra (IPS); Lydia Tungoe steno of AIGP (Ops) PHQ; Michael Angami typist PHQ; ABI Imliri Ao (STF); Hav John O Tsopoe (STF); Hav Kenito Wotsa (STF); Hav Kh. Ramesh Singh (STF); Hav Hoto Sumi (STF); Hav N. Hokato Sumi (STF); Naik Mudozhoyi (STF); C/N Yanbemo (STF); C/N Nanwang Konyak (STF) and C/N Y. Nyanbemo Kikon (STF).

According to a statement, the officer and personnel of Narcotic PS were given ‘out-of-turn promotion’ for their role in detecting smuggled gold bars weighing approximately 48 kgs, one of the highest in the country, and contraband narcotic substance during their duty at Narcotic check point, Khuzama, in 2021.

The commendation disc recipients were awarded for their dedication, sincerity, and devotion to service with exemplary performance in their duties.

Congratulating all the officers and personnel, DGP TJ Longkumer said that the recipients have set an example for the Nagaland Police by their dedication and sincerity to duty, DGP Nagaland stated that it will surely encourage and challenge other Officers, men and women of the Department to perform assigned duty diligently with full dedication and determination and assured to reward those who performed well in their assigned duties as per the laid down criteria of the Department.

On the occasion, Longkumer also read out the ‘Police Officer’s Prayer’ and encouraged all officers and personnel to be ready to take up new challenges and responsibilities in the evolving law and order situation of the State.

Earlier, IGP (Hq) S. Tokiumong Yim presided over the function while DIG (CID/HR&SJ) Roopa M briefed about the ‘out-of-turn promotion’ and AIGP (Adm) M. Rhovisie Nyuwi read out the ‘citation of DGP commendation disc’ awardees.
