83.36% voter turnout in Nagaland

Polling day for the Nagaland State Assembly Elections came to a close on February 27 with an estimated 83.36% voter turnout across the State. 

Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V Shashank Shekhar, addressing a press conference on Tuesday evening, informed that the 83.36% figure was a tentative figure. The final figure would come out only when the final numbers from all Returning Officers are compiled. 

Pughoboto recorded the highest voter turnout at 92.11%, followed by Tseminyu with 90.88% and Mon with 90.67%. Meanwhile, Peren recorded the lowest voter turnout with 75.84%.

The CEO informed that polling was conducted in 2,291 polling stations spread across 59 Assembly Constituencies. The average number of electors per polling station was estimated to be 566. There were also 387 all women managed polling stations, while 3 were Persons with Disabilities (PwD) managed polling stations. 

There were also 42 model polling stations across the state and webcasting was made available in 1,647 polling stations.
