New Delh Feb 3 (agencies): The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday said that India reported 1,72,433 fresh COVID cases since Wednesday. The country’s death toll increased to 4,98,983 as 1,008 coronavirus patients lost their lives since yesterday.
The health ministry informed that there was an 8 per cent increase in new coronavirus infections. India’s COVID active cases stand at 15,33,921, the MoHFW data updated at 8 am showed.
The health ministry further informed that 2,59,107 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,97,70,414. The Recovery Rate currently stand at 95.14 per cent.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 10.99 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 12.98 per cent, according to the health ministry release.
The cumulative number of anti-Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far has crossed 167.87 crore, as per the latest data available.
According to the health ministry, 73.41 crore COVID tests have been conducted so far, out of which 15,69,449 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
