Naga Students’ Union Bangalore organizes orientation programme for Freshers

Naga Students’ Union Bangalore held its orientation programme on 28th of July at United Theological College. The progamme was organized mainly to foster the new members of NSUB.

The programme started with an invocation by Ms. Khontele Seb. The NSUB President Mr. Nuthipru Nienu, delivered the keynote address by acknowledging all the dignitaries and well-wishers for their support. He also stated how this orientation will be a huge step forward, especially for those who are new to Bangalore.

 

The programme was graced by four speakers, with former DGP of Karnataka, Ex MP and currently the Vice President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr. H.T. Sangliana as the guest speaker.

 

 

 

Speaking on the corporate aspect, Mr. Meiyatoshi, an entrepreneur and one of the four speakers invited to the program, encouraged the people to learn to work hard, to value and believe in oneself. He also talked about punctuality, team spirit, respect for others and to have integrity and be honest.

 

Ms. Rachel Sema, who works as a counsellor in an NGO, talked on depression. She mentioned how migration to a metropolitan city can be causes for depression, as people struggle to adjust to the new environment. “The obstacles we face will easily lead to depression and so during this time one needs to embark on their support system in order not to fall deep into depression”, she advised.

Mr. Atoka V Zhimomi, a service delivery lead and who himself has been living in Bangalore for more than 15 years, emphasized on how it was very important to be connected with one’s own community when you are living far away from your home. He also encouraged the crowd to have right and positive attitude especially at work.

 

The programme ended with a prayer by Zeliangrong Students’ Union Bangalore Mr. Keyiteigwangbe Ndang.
